Thursday, 5 March 2020 - In the beginning of February the build-up of Tomorrowland Winter 2020 in Alpe d’Huez started. Today, it is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that the French Government has decided to cancel this year’s edition (March 14 -21). Since Saturday we were in close contact with the French Government about the impact of the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) and we finally received their official decision.

The French Government is taking drastic measures regarding the COVID-19 virus in France. Therefore they are enforcing the cancellation of large events, bringing together people from different nationalities on closed festival grounds and event locations.

The ski area of Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski (Alpe d’Huez, Oz en Oisans, Vaujany, Auris and Villard Reculas) will remain open for all visitors, including all normal activities (ski lifts, slopes, bars, restaurants…), just like all other ski resorts in France. All our visitors will be contacted personally later today, by e-mail and within the Tomorrowland Account, regarding the next steps.

About Tomorrowland Winter

In March 2018, Tomorrowland announced the coming of a new festival: Tomorrowland Winter in the ski resort of Alpe d’Huez in France. The first edition of Tomorrowland Winter took place from March 9-16, 2019, and used the theme 'The Hymn of the Frozen Lotus'. Inspired by the magical ‘Amicorum Spectaculum’, the legendary fourth edition of Tomorrowland Winter took place from March 16-23, 2024. More than 22.000 People of Tomorrow came together to celebrate the spectacle of friendship in the beautiful French ski resort of Alpe d’Huez during a week-long winter festival adventure filled with snow, skiing, snowboarding and the finest electronic music. More than 150 of the world’s best electronic artists performed across 8 magnificent indoor and outdoor stages in the ski resort and on the mountains, boasting spectacular views of Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding mountains. Tomorrowland will return to Alpe d'Huez in 2025 for the fifth edition of Tomorrowland Winter from March 15-22, 2025.
